I'll dominate 'legitimate combatant' Jake Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua is set to fight Jake Paul in an eight round match which will be streamed in real-time on Netflix.

British boxer Anthony Joshua stated he will "dominate completely" Jake Paul and "break" his opponent as the pair confronted each other to promote the upcoming heavyweight fight.

Former two time unified boxing king Joshua faces YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul - in what is, theoretically, a massive disparity - at Miami's venue on December 19th.

Boxer's Mindset

"I will break his face and break his body up. My goal is to show I'm the better fighter," the British boxer, 35, stated.

"I'll stamp all over him. That's the boxer's mindset.

"I intend to seriously aim to hurt him. That's what I want to do."

Respectful Exchange

Despite those words, a calm Joshua and social media star Jake Paul - usually famous for his dramatics - exchanged pleasantries and maintained decorum with each other.

Jake Paul rather targeted ex Joshua's rival the Cameroonian fighter and described him as "not serious" after the Cameroonian declined a fight offer.

Targeting Fury

Anthony Joshua, meanwhile, targeted British rival Tyson Fury - and rejected a £1m bet 'The Gypsy King' states he will put on a Paul victory.

"[Paul] is better than Fury - he showed up," Joshua said.

"I give him credit for that."

Legitimate Fighter

In spite of stating he plans to hurt Jake Paul, Joshua refused to talk badly about his rival's boxing ability.

"Jake Paul is a credible opponent," he remarked.

Paul's Background

Paul - who originally gained popularity on the Disney Channel - has mainly fought MMA fighters or declining opponents since turning professional.

He lost to Briton Fury in last year.

Commercial Success

Still, the novice remains one of boxing's biggest financial successes, consistently making substantial paydays.

Prediction and Confidence

The 28 year old predicted a stoppage in round four or five and asserted he would stop the highly-expected Fury-Joshua bout, which is apparently in the works for 2026.

"It will be my match with Fury next year," Jake Paul declared.

Physical Disparity

As both boxers met for the usual confrontation, with their size difference on show, it highlighted just how unlikely this entire matchup is - and how remarkable it is that the bout is truly happening.
